With a permit for oral conscious sedation, Dr. Patel can administer both types simultaneously to ensure you experience an especially relaxed visit.
We understand that it’s important for you to feel comfortable and safe during your procedure. Your doctor will recommend the appropriate level of sedation that meets your needs before any procedure. Then, we will schedule your appointment and plan accordingly for your procedure, knowing that you will be relaxed and calm during the dental appointment.

What is laughing gas and what does it do?
Laughing gas, also known as nitrous oxide, is a mild sedative that can help reduce your anxiety. It will not put you to sleep. It’s colorless and odorless, and its usefulness stems from its ability to work and safely reverse its effects quickly. It is a widely considered safe dental sedation method.

What is oral sedation like?
We provide a prescription sedative you can take at home before your appointment. This ensures that you arrive feeling calm and relaxed during your treatment. The sedative typically begins to work within 30-60 minutes. While you will be awake during the procedure, you may not be fully aware of your surroundings. It’s important to arrange transportation home afterward, as you may feel drowsy for a few hours.
