Invisalign® Clear Aligners in Romeoville, IL

Clear aligners like Invisalign® are effective and discreet orthodontic treatment options worn comfortably over your teeth to adjust alignment and spacing continuously. Invisalign® aligners are custom-made using models of your current teeth and the result you hope to achieve. With clear aligners, you will switch to new aligners about every two weeks with each set shifting the teeth slightly—this continues until you have achieved your final results, which usually takes anywhere from 6 months to two years.

If you’re interested in straightening your smile or fixing bite issues with Invisalign®, call our office to schedule your consultation today!

  • How does the Invisalign® process work?

To get started on your Invisalign® treatment, we will photograph your teeth, face, and X-rays. These records will be sent to Invisalign® along with detailed instructions on how we want the outcome to look. Invisalign® will then use the photographs to create a 3D model of your teeth and work with your dentist to get the mold to the exact specifications. Once finalized, the trays will be made and sent to your dentist’s office. You will wear a set of trays for two weeks at a time for approximately two years or the duration determined by your dentist.

  • Invisalign® vs. braces—what's the difference?

There are many differences between Invisalign® aligners and braces; we’ve listed some of the largest ones here. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, but introducing clear aligners to the market introduced a more efficient, less painful way to straighten teeth.

    • Materials. Invisalign® aligners use clear transparent plastic, while braces use wires and brackets.
    • Removability. The user can remove Invisalign® aligners at any time, while a professional can only remove braces.
    • Food Restrictions. Invisalign® allows users to eat whatever they want and not make changes to their oral care practices, while braces restrict what they can safely eat and require special maintenance and care.
    • Injury Risks. Invisalign® aligners do not present injury risks, while braces can lead to cuts and other injuries.
    • Visibility. Invisalign® aligners are nearly impossible for others to notice, while braces are almost impossible to miss.
  • How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of this treatment is similar to the cost of metal braces. Costs can vary, depending on:

    1. Insurance coverage. Most insurance plans cover Invisalign® aligners the same way they cover metal braces. Insurance rarely covers Invisalign® aligners for cosmetic reasons, but each case differs.
    2. Length/complexity of treatment. With Invisalign®, you get new clear aligners every couple of weeks, so the cost varies, depending on whether your treatment requires more (or fewer) aligners.

If you have any financial questions, please contact our office, and we will be happy to discuss your insurance coverage or additional payment options.

  • Who can use clear aligners?

Clear aligners can be used by most teenagers and adults who require mild to moderate orthodontic corrections. This includes patients with crooked and misaligned teeth or noticeable spacing issues. Invisalign® is also effective in treating patients with minor bite issues. However, it is essential to note that not all orthodontic problems can be treated with Invisalign®.
