Dental Implants in Romeoville

What Are Dental Implants?

Dentists and patients alike prefer dental implants for replacing missing teeth. Implants are small titanium posts that we place into the jawbone in place of the root portion of missing teeth. The titanium is biocompatible, which means that over a period of a few months after placement, the implants bond with your bone to become a solid anchor for the replacement that goes on top.

After the implant placement is complete and the area has healed, you’ll make another appointment at Romeoville Dental Center to have the restoration phase completed. If we’re replacing a single tooth, the restoration is often a dental crown, which we design to look just like the surrounding natural teeth. For a couple of missing teeth in a row, we may fit you for a dental bridge. If you’re missing most or all teeth in an arch, we will likely fit you for dentures, or we may recommend implant-supported dentures.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Permanent replacement method for missing teeth
  • Look, feel, and function like natural teeth
  • Great alternative to uncomfortable and ill-fitting dentures
  • Care for implants like you would your natural teeth
  • With proper care, implants can last a lifetime

Implant-Supported Dentures

If you’re missing most or all your teeth and currently wear dentures that slip, click, or generally don’t fit great, we can help! At our dental office in Romeoville, we can fit you for implant-supported dentures using mini dental implants. With these, we place only a couple of mini implants into your jawbone. We then drill holes into your existing denture that line up with the implants, or we fit you for a new denture. These holes let you snap your denture into place. The denture stays secure, so you can smile, talk, and chew with complete confidence that your denture won’t slip.
